Facility & logistics

We open the boxes.

Goods are received at our own New York facility, opened, checked against specification and original packaging, verified for destination compliance, labelled, consolidated and staged. Almost nobody else in this category touches the goods before they ship — which is why almost nobody else can catch an error while it is still cheap to fix.

Receiving to departure

What happens between arrival at our loading dock and loading onto the container.

  1. 01

    Receive.

Goods arrive from suppliers across the United States and from other points of origin.

  2. 02

    Inspect.

Opened and checked against specification and original packaging. Completeness, condition, configuration, dating and accuracy. This is where the equipment error was caught.

  3. 03

    Verify.

Destination compliance confirmed — certification, documentation, labelling requirements for the specific market.

  4. 04

    Label.

Bilingual and locally compliant labelling and relabelling applied, priced per exterior shipping unit and per interior package.

  5. 05

    Consolidate and stage.

Multiple suppliers and origins combined into one container, palletized, wrapped and staged for departure.

Freight management

Ocean, air and ground — including the last mile.

Ocean, air and ground freight management with last-mile delivery arranged to the location, not the port. Dry, refrigerated and hazmat container options. ISPM15 certified pallets and temperature recorders where the cargo requires them.

Freight is the part of this business everyone can buy. It is included because it has to be, and because accountability that stops at the port is not accountability.

Assessorial services

The published schedule, so nothing arrives as a surprise.

Export preparation, documentation, consular legalization, translation and drayage are set out on a published assessorial services schedule.

We publish the structure of that schedule rather than the rates. It means you know what is chargeable before you commit — which is more than most of this industry offers, and considerably more than a broker’s quote tells you.

Procurement forecasting

We monitor your suppliers, not just your orders.

Forecasting your own usage is not enough. The exposure that closes a location is upstream: a production shortage at a supplier you do not have visibility into, on an item that ships from overseas on a long lead time.

Intria monitors customers’ suppliers, which means we see shortages forming before they reach you. For a Puerto Rico operator, that meant securing critical non-perishable inventory months ahead of consecutive holiday seasons, keeping the operation at full capacity throughout both.

Come and see it.

A visit to the facility is the fastest way to understand what physical custody actually means. We will also come to your operation.
