Terms & trade finance

Working capital is usually the real constraint.

Not sourcing, not freight, not compliance — cash. A growing operator can only open locations as fast as it can fund inventory in transit. Brokers rarely offer terms at all. Large distributors tier them by spend, which means the operators who most need terms don't qualify for the credit they may deserve. Intria offers qualified customers sensible terms, because our structure can help them grow.

Terms are set relationship by relationship rather than by a spend tier, because a licensee opening their third location is not a smaller version of a licensee opening their thirtieth.

The real comparison

What a specialist costs, against what a mistake costs.

Direct purchasing removes a margin and adds a risk. Documentation, destination certification, electrical conformity, warranty support, labelling and consolidation are each a place where an order can be technically filled and effectively useless.

One returned equipment order can cost more than a year’s worth of incremental margin. One container delayed in customs can cost more than a year's worth of pricing differentials. A delayed opening can cost you more than the cost of the launch.

Two of the savings are hard, not soft. Consolidating small lots into full containers is a measurable freight saving that brokers and broadline distributors cannot always produce. Credit terms help you fund inventory in transit.

If you are comparing our all-in price against a manufacturer's quote, their quote may exclude freight, documentation, certification and labelling — all of which you will pay for, separately and later.

How we work commercially

Ongoing supply and project work are separate conversations.

Ongoing supply relationships

Carry a mid-market commercial threshold. Intria is built for operators past the do-it-yourself stage and not yet large enough to command attention from the aggregators — and the relationship grows as they do. A regional franchise that grew from fewer than 100 locations to nearly 1,000 started somewhere.

Project work

Taken on separately: store openings, equipment programmes and one-off or opportunistic purchases. There is no ongoing volume requirement attached to a single opening or a single equipment order.

We address terms up front.

Terms are essential to ultimately deciding whether the relationship works.
